    Lisa Anderson (she/her)

    Lisa is Vice-President of Embodied Justice Leadership at Auburn and founding director of the Sojourner Truth Leadership Circle. Lisa is a seminary trained theologian with expertise in liberation theologies (Black, feminist/womanist, LGBTQIA), philosophy and ritual practice. The notion that "Loving Blackness is the spiritual calling of our time," is Lisa's personal and political guiding principle and informs the theo-poetical vision that sits at the heart of all of STLC's work, including The Tarrying Place.

    Carla Gaskins-Nathan (she/they)

    Carla is the founder and CEO of Zelah LLC. She is a consultant, educator, healing artist and a licensed massage therapist. As the founder and CEO of Zelah LLC, Carla engages individuals and organizations through program development and implementation, facilitation, ritual, wellness practices and wellness space curation. Carla has more than twenty years of experience focused on individual and community health and wellness through a social justice liberation framework. They have expertise in integrative health (Black, Communities of Color and LGBTQIA+) with both youth and adults. Carla’s work is open to all that see the importance of holistic wellness with a focus on loving Blackness and working with LGBTQIA+ communities of color. Additionally, Carla is faculty and a clinical supervisor at Pacific College of Health Sciences (formerly Pacific College of Oriental Medicine) in New York.

    Renee Hill, Ph.D. (she/her)

    Renee is an independent scholar-activist with expertise in contemporary liberation theologies, anti-oppression theory and practice; world religions; and religion and social change. Renee is a serious multiple spiritual “belong-er” and practitioner at home in Orisa/Lucumi, Jewish and Buddhist traditions. She is the author of several published articles. She was ordained an Episcopal priest. Renee is an initiate in the Cuban Lucumi tradition as a priestess of Yemoja. As someone committed to the healthy embodiment of personal and spiritual power, Renee is an anti-violence activist and trainer who has taught self-defense, self-empowerment and trauma recovery to people of all ages. In all of her work, she strives to be holistic and comprehensive in her approach, addressing body, mind and spirit.

    Courtney is a part of the Auburn staff team. As Director of Program Operations, Courtney makes STLC's day to day possible. A self-described co-conspirator in STLC's Black women loving vision, Courtney brings her gifts of organization, event production and hospitality to the work. Additionally, Courtney is the author of four books and co-host of the podcast That Witch Life.
